Day Seventy

Hello there! Today it's official. We've had four diagnosed cases of strep throat in our house in the last four weeks. I was out with a sore throat last week but never went to the dr, so I'm not counting that. My oldest has had it twice (one time it escalated into Scarlet Fever), my youngest once (also escalated) and now my husband has it. Spring can't come soon enough 'round these parts!!
  • 2 c water
  • 1 whole mango, diced
  • 2 large bananas
  • 15 frozen strawberries
  • handful of frozen granny smith apples (that I found at the bottom of my freezer)
  • 4 huge handfuls of spinach (extra greens for this lot of sickos!)

Blend until beautiful!

  1. Hey Jessica! Guess what?!? I'm super psyched because I got my bloodwork results back and all my numbers are down, down, down. Cholesterol is now normal and not high, triglycerides are awesome, and my crp (cardiac risk indicator) is down. So, I asked myself, what's different between right now and this time last year? GREEN SMOOTHIES. I love you, I love you, I love you.

  2. I am getting over the most horrible stomach bug of my life. Food sounds horrible. But I think I will transition back into the land of the eating with some green and fruit smoothies. Like Cricket I also must thank you for introducing me to the world of goodness.

  3. Me too, had strep last week and my daughter had scarlet fever. Smoothie drinkers still get sick, but we get better faster than we used to.

I always comment with my smoothie of the day because I enjoy seeing what someone else had so much I like to return the favor.

    2 cups water,
    2 tbs freshly ground flax
8 drops stevia and a squirt of agave
collards, spinach, and a sprig of kale, 1 cup blended.
2 cups frozen peaches, 3 big chunks of frozen pineapple, and a banana.

The kids gave this two thumbs up, they don't always, so that made me happy.
